Not many businesses can say they have endured the time and innumerable changes that have come since 1958, but Colbert Roofing Corporation can!

Our company’s namesake John B. “Jack” Colbert originally went into business as a restoration contractor, working with insurance companies throughout the ‘60s and ‘70s. Upon entering his third decade in business, Jack’s son, Jerry joined the company to work with his dad and helped Colbert Roofing expand in size and scope, branching out to include roofing, fencing, insulation, and sheet metal fabrication.

Having a strong local foothold by 1980, the business was officially named the Colbert Roofing Corporation and the years of growth eventually required the shop to move into a newer location big enough to house our offices and full-service mechanic and sheet metal workshop.

In true American dream fashion, Jerry bought the company from his dad in 1990 after successfully running and growing his own roofing repair shop for seven years in the eighties. When Jerry’s son, Chris, came to work for him shortly afterward the cycle repeated again. As of 1998, Chris Colbert has been the hands-on owner of Colbert Roofing Corporation and maintains a passion for serving the local community.

How did they do it? They believe that if you care about your community and make an honest and valuable difference in the lives of your clients, you’ll attract professionals who do the same and therefore build one of the longest-lasting roofing companies in the Mid-Atlantic area poised to succeed for years to come.
